Ken Chamberlain Jr. has been fighting for a decade to get justice for his father. He said Thursday that he feels he got a little bit closer to it.

Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah says her office will join a review of the police-involved shootings of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. and DJ Henry.

In November 2011, Ken Chamberlain Sr. was killed inside his apartment by White Plains police officers. An investigation was conducted, and none of the officers were ever charged.

Ken Chamberlain Jr. has been fighting to have that case reopened.

It's a similar story for the family of DJ Danroy Henry.

In 2010, the Pace University student was killed by a Pleasantville police officer who was breaking up a college party. The officer claimed Henry was trying to run him over when he fired the fatal shots.

No officers were ever charged in Henry's death.

On Thursday, both families spoke out, hopeful that the review of their cases will help get them the justice they've been seeking.

"What is there to fear in a simple review?" asked Danroy Henry.

"What the Westchester County DA did today takes guts," says Ken Chamberlain Jr. "What she's saying is what we've been saying all along, that the government, its agents and officials ought to be held to the same set of rules that enables a fair and functioning society. She believes in the rule of law."
