A Morris Park block saw falling branches cause damage to two backyards last night.
A large tree in the backyard of a Holland Avenue home cracked at around 8 p.m. Branches started falling in a neighbor's yard as well.
Residents were startled by the sound of the falling branches, mistaking them for fireworks.
Neighbor Nicko Costelio's entire yard is blocked off by the fallen debris, but he says he is grateful that nobody was hurt.
Maria Mejies, the owner of the house, says she has never had problems with the tree in the 15 years she's lived on Holland Avenue.
Since the incident, Mejies has called the FDNY and her insurance company. However, she was reportedly told neither could help.
The destruction caused by the branches could cost over $900.
