A former Ramapo police officer has filed a $75 million federal lawsuit against the town of Ramapo and several current and former officials.
Yolanda Tyson says she was fired last year after complaining about race and gender discrimination to other police and union officials. Tyson had served 10 years with the department.
She says her concerns were never addressed but were instead met with retaliatory action and a hostile work environment.
The town attorney said he had not seen the lawsuit and could not comment.
