A former FBI agent from Sleepy Hollow pleaded guilty to five counts in a bribery case Tuesday.
Robert Lustyik was a special agent in White Plains when he and a childhood fiend, Johannes Thaler, agreed to steal documents from the FBI.
Federal prosecutors say the information was for Rizve Ahmed, a Bangladeshi man living in Connecticut looking to dig up information for a key political figure in Bangladesh.
Lustyik "breached not only the law, but also his sworn oath and the great trust and confidence placed in him by citizens and colleagues," said U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
Lustyik is facing between 13 and 17 years in prison upon his sentencing in April.
Thaler and Rizve Ahmed both pleaded guilty to federal bribery charges and will be sentenced next month.
Lustyik also pleaded guilty to an unrelated bribery case out of Utah. That sentencing is expected in March.
