A former Dutchess County corrections sergeant has been sentenced for the killing of his ex-wife.
Timothy Alexander was sentenced in Dutchess County Court Monday morning to 25 years to life.
He was convicted in April of fatally stabbing 34-year-old Terrie DeGelormo outside her Wappingers Falls home back in 2018.
The two had a son who is now 22 months old.
DeGelormo's mother spoke to reporters shortly after the sentence was handed down.
"I'm just glad that justice was served. It's not going to bring back my daughter, At least now, he'll pay," she said.
Alexander's defense team tells News 12 they plan to appeal.
