375ds agoA fundraiser to help the family of a fallen firefighter took place Monday night at a restaurant in West Nyack.
A total of 20% of sales and all tips at Sage Southern Cuisine will go to the two sons of Jared Lloyd.
The Spring Valley volunteer firefighter died in March 2021 as he searched for trapped residents during a massive blaze at Evergreen Court Home for Adults.
Lloyd also worked at Optimum. His friends say a year later a memorial at his locker still stands.
"Every day I see his locker, every day we step foot in there, we continue to clean his locker out, yes we think about him all the time," said friend Rich Pimental.
All proceeds will go to Lloyd's two children.
