These services are delivered through the nonprofit Birth from the Earth, in partnership with local hospitals like St. John's Riverside Hospital.
Tragically, many of these deaths are preventable. By recognizing warning signs like severe headaches, extreme swelling, trouble breathing and bleeding, women and their families can seek potentially lifesaving medical attention.
