In the Pine Island area, Black Dirt farmers are concerned about the Wallkill River cresting and flooding during the storm, as News 12 reported last week
So far, no flooding has been reported in the county, but Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus activated the county Emergency Operations Center in Goshen mid-afternoon.
A sleet-mix caused several vehicles to spin out in the Minisink and Westtown areas.
In Warwick, the police department posted to Facebook urging people to be prepared for the possibility of flooding and outages.
They said rescuers responded to 22 motor vehicle accidents in 24 hours during the weekend snowstorm and are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel during the current, potentially dangerous conditions.
