Emergency crews rescued a construction worker Wednesday afternoon after he fell into a ditch in Yonkers.
The incident occurred along Avondale Road.
Workers had been at the site excavating rock, stone and dirt for the past four months in preparation of building a foundation for a house.
They say the man was carrying a high beam and walking down a ladder when he fell roughly 8 to 10 feet into a dirt ditch.
The police department and fire department worked together for about 30 minutes to set up an anchor and hauling system that hoisted the injured worker up.

The worker was taken to Westchester Medical Center, where he is expected to be OK.
