A Hudson Valley principal is being recognized for her hard work with a national distinction and opportunity to help underprivileged kids in Guatemala.
Ellenville Elementary School principal Nicole Ey was chosen among dozens of national candidates to be among the 2022 Class of National Distinguished Elementary School Principals.
She was awarded earlier this month in Washington D.C.
Ey, who lives in Port Jervis, was also picked to be among a special mission team going to Guatemala in January to build a bottle school made from recycled materials.
Ey tells News 12 that she’s “honored and excited" and looking forward to sharing the experience with her students and staff when she returns.
