Electrical fire damages historic Dragon Coaster at Playland Park
The park was closed at the time of the fire after ending its season last weekend.

An electrical fire broke out on the historic Dragon Coaster at Playland Park Saturday night, according to Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins.
The fire began around 9 p.m. in the lift area, which is about halfway up the 97-year-old coaster.
The flame was quickly contained and no injuries were reported.
Jenkins said the coaster was damaged, but that it does not appear to be extensive.
The park was closed at the time of the incident after ending its season last weekend.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
