Leaders across several Hudson Valley cities and villages came together in White Plains Friday to demand more funding for the first time in 15 years.

Mayors and municipal officials are touring the state with the hope of getting the attention of state leaders.

"All the very, mundane things that you're expected to do as a municipal government, making sure that your fire department is well equiped, the police department is well equiped -- all those things are the things you can do with unrestricted funding. You can't get grants for that kind of thing," said Hastings-on-Hudson Mayor Nicola Armacost.

Advocates with New York Conference of Mayors will head to western and central New York next before wrapping up in Albany.
