Train riders are less than two months away from a potential strike on the Long Island Rail Road. After weeks of no deal, the Metropolitan Transportation Agency is saying it will meet the unions with higher raises if they agree to do away with certain work rules.

The Internal Revenue Service is sounding the alarm about scams and fraud schemes that are targeting taxpayers this tax filing season. Harry Chavis, the special agent in charge of criminal investigations for the IRS in New York, sat down with News 12's Rich Barrabi to discuss how scammers are trying to take advantage of taxpayers and what they can do about it.

There's a new push to release opioid settlement funds in Nassau County. A protest was held last week outside of the county legislative building after lawmakers and advocates say the county has received $95 million but has only spent about $8 million.
