Eight members of the Westchester Assembly have authored a letter directed to Gov. Kathy Hochul, urging her to pass the "Save the Hudson" bill.

This proposed legislation aims to prevent the disposal of radioactive wastewater into the Hudson River during the decommissioning of nuclear power plants.

Numerous elected officials from over 30 municipalities on both sides of the river have endorsed the legislation, along with the Senate version of the bill, which has already been approved.

Holtec officials argue that the radioactive content in the discharged water will remain well below the limits stipulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
