East Ramapo schools to close 2 hours early Wednesday

Officials say all students will be released about two hours early tomorrow because of congestion expected in the area in the afternoon.

The East Ramapo Central School District is putting out the alert that students will be dismissed from school early on Wednesday.
Officials say  Spring Valley and Ramapo high schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
All ERCSD elementary schools and Kakiat S.T.E.A.M. Academy will dismiss at 12:20 p.m.
Chestnut Ridge and Pomona middle schools will dismiss at 1:20 p.m.
Students will be arriving at their school bus stops approximately two hours earlier than the regular schedule.
They say all after-school activities and sports have been canceled as well.
School-provided lunches will be given out before heading home.
The annual memorial services for deceased Grand Rebbes at the Viznitz Cemetery is expected to cause traffic problems in the area of Route 306 and Brick Church Road. Up to 100,000 people are expected to line Viola Road and walk or be bused to the cemetery.
