Now, the question I have about the mayor is that the weather down in DC, a warmer than the weather here because it's got to be at least a little bit better. It is a little bit warmer in DC. But you know, we are dealing with that really cold pocket of air that is taking us just for one more day. But we are going to turn our eyes for the weekend an early look for what are some potential impacts for this storm. So some thunderstorms in December, that's what is possible for Sunday evening into Monday, steady rain isolated flooding high winds of 40 MPH or even stronger that can knock down some decorations even cause some scattered power outages and then temperatures start to crash. So we're forecasting a high of 61 on Sunday by Monday night. It's going to be in the 30. So that's something that we need to monitor in terms of tomorrow. Another very cold start, temperatures will be near 29 feeling much colder than that high. Tomorrow will be in the low forties, feeling like the mid thirties throughout the day. A few flurries possible by the early afternoon drying out and clouds clearing out by Friday. Seeing more of that sunshine seasonable fill with highs in the upper forties. Saturday will actually be the pick of the week. We're going to see that beautiful sunshine highs in the mid fifties and then we're watching for some stormy weather on Sunday.

Ok. We started off with some really cold temperatures today, but you say things are gonna change, things are gonna change tomorrow will still be a nice chilly start, but we start to improve. Certainly for your Saturday, Saturday is gonna be a good day to get out and about take care of some things. Christmas decorating shopping, make sure that those decorations are tied tight. Sunday. We got a lot of rain and wind which are really gonna tear things down. I guess you could say as we get into your Sunday, I'm gonna show you what things look like in a little bit. But again for today, we're working with that colder air. 39 is the forecast said hi, we're really gonna feel like the thirties through out the day. Again, those feel like numbers for the later part of this morning are really gonna be in the twenties 26 for Newtown, 27 for orange and heading into this afternoon, we'll try to feel like the thirties will be at or around freezing. And again, once you catch those strong bursts of wind or those gusts, it's certainly gonna give you a winter like, feel So you do got a brace for that for your today tonight. It will be a chilly start for you tomorrow, we do start to rebound as we head into your Friday afternoon, we finally feel like the forties. And then the next story is Sunday's rain. We're watching for heavy rain that we know strong damaging winds gusts upwards to 40 maybe 50 MPH that we know. It's just the timing we're really trying to get, uh, in, I guess you can say congruence as we push forward into right now, looks to be the later half of your sunny so sunny morning looks to be ok if you got to run some errands. But listen, again, as mentioned, if you got those holiday decorations up around the house, you do want to maybe secure them a little bit tighter, maybe take them down because as we work with this heavy rain, which won't be the biggest issue. We could still see some coastal flooding. It's going to be those strong gusty winds upwards to 4050 maybe even 60 MPH for some spots. And again, as far as rainfall totals for right now, we're looking at maybe an inch to two when things are all said and done. But again, Sunday, the second half of your day into the early parts of your Monday will be the be that time period that we're watching for the system, um, to really bring in some messy weather as we wrap up the weekend and open up next and as we're getting into your Monday, yeah, we're looking at 58 degree high. That's gonna be for that very early part of your Monday. As we have that strong cold front, bringing in chillier air temperatures will be on the decline throughout the day. Becky.

Let's just shout out and Gen Zs who are like Santa, we're gonna, we're gonna Instagram account. Meanwhile, I've never been more like eager to get to the mailbox when I get home. I'm like, yes his card, the card can do to brighten up your mood on a bad weather day. We had some bad weather days. I don't get them from the mailbox on that day. Well, someone's going to have to for you and then your mood will be brightened, right? As uh as uh we take a look at our storm was featurecast for Sunday. So today and through Saturday overall, no major weather impacts, but we just want to make sure you are planning ahead for and ready for what is likely to come on Sunday, Sunday morning. It looks dry right now, but there will be an increasing chance for periods of rain showers to develop a Sunday afternoon. Now, this is not really what we're concerned about. The concern comes in Sunday evening and Sunday night. As the intensity of the rain ramps up after eight or nine o'clock, Sunday night, it'll be warm. Temperatures will be in the upper fifties to near 60 at the same time the wind is picking up too, but expect a good soaking rain Sunday evening up and through about say four o'clock or so on Monday. Now, a, a lot of times, computer models can't handle the wind gusts, well, several days out from a storm like this. So I don't expect widespread 50 mile per hour gusts, but I do expect those winds to ramp up in the 30 to 40 mile per hour range of times. And that can lead to some scattered power outages. Sunday night into early on Monday. In addition to blowing around those holiday decorations that you might have up as far as today goes, go with the heavy cold all day. It's a very similar day to yesterday. A couple of flurries around the light path snow shower, otherwise mostly cloudy and dry with highs in the upper thirties today. So mood canst stay overall today is fine. Just watch out for a little brief light snow shower throughout the day. Highs in the upper thirties overnight. Tonight, back down to around 30 or so for those late night temperatures into tomorrow morning. Nice and more seasonable tomorrow pick of the week. Saturday 54 a storm comes in Sunday evening into very early Monday morning. The rest of next week looks dry with highs in the forties.

All right back in the weather center now with rich, we are feeling these low temperatures, cold temperatures out here this morning. Thanks to that wind, teens and twenties and rich. That's what you dress for. If you're going to be outside for a prolonged period of time, you do have the cold weather conditions around the island that wind is with us today, temperatures are below average right through the afternoon hours. And for the start of Hanukkah, we're going to be looking at towards sunset at 425 the clouds going to be with us. There is a slight chance of a rain or snow shower into our afternoon similar to what we had yesterday. A little bit of a nuisance moisture coming on through the big story today. The clouds and the cold weather conditions, temperatures are below average. With those wind chills, teens and twenties throughout our day. Notice the clouds flurry snow showers north and west. They're moving southward. And throughout the day, there will be a slight chance of a passing rain or snow shower, bundle up through throughout the day. Keep your feet warm yourself warm, the gloves, the hat, the scarf with a hyperlocal high only around 41 degrees. So the big story now is the cold air you can see through the afternoon hours into this evening towards sunset at 425 to 530. Temperatures are in the mid thirties, dry weather conditions, overnight temperatures drop into the lower thirties and then the winds change warmer weather for Friday afternoon with the sunshine, mid and upper forties and then a storm coming our way for Sunday into Monday. This will impact your travel plans trying to get to any sporting events, New Jersey, Long Island out the door to do some shopping rain developing Sunday afternoon, some of the rain Sunday night will be moderate to heavy at times into the morning hours of Monday that could impact your travel plans and also with the rain, some strong gusty winds, there's potential winds 40 to perhaps 50 MPH that will impact travel plans on Sunday into Monday morning. And also those Christmas decorations you may have to secure them or take some of them inside Sunday into Monday. Highs today are in the forties, chance of that rain and snow shower. It's cold today. Cold tonight. Lows are in the thirties. Saturdays beautiful 55 and then stormy weather late Sunday into Monday with rain and gusty winds.

Is storm watch sea meteorologist Mike Rizzo, with the weather, weather conditions today are going to be beautiful for the first night of Hanukkah. You're going to love this weather, everyone. The conditions are going to be cool and crisp, typical for this time of year. And we have just a few clouds parting ways with our sky to make for a beautiful evening. As the sun sets tonight, temperatures will be near 37 degrees and we continue to cool off into the overnight. So enjoy have a Latke for me. It's going to be an amazing experience for the next couple of nights as well except for Sunday. Now, Sunday, here's what we know, don't it will rain Sunday for sure. It's likely going to be at night. But what we don't know is what time I think it's going to be after sunset on Sunday, but I'm just not 100% certain exactly what time yet. We do know downpours are coming through and there will be some damaging gusts associated with this thunderstorm squall that slides right across the state of New Jersey. So for today, we have a couple of flurries and sprinkles across the Delaware River, but that's essentially it for this morning. We will end up with dry weather for tomorrow morning at 31 degrees. We get back into the fifties tomorrow in Ocean County, around 50 to 51 everyone else around 48 to 49 degrees under a mostly sunny sky that gives us a beautiful day. So Friday is a thumbs up. It is a fantastic day and it stays really nice into Saturday as well. Saturday is even warmer in Ocean County, we've got around 53 to 59 degrees. Even Monmouth County at 55 Bergen Passaic County. Hudson County is coming in near 57 degrees and Morris County and Morristown around 55 and Flemington in 100 County at 51 it's just a beautiful day. But of course, we are going to keep an out for Sunday because Sunday's weather front is going to be a timing issue, right. We don't know exactly what time I think it's coming in the evening. So that does bring us downpours and strong gusts up to 30 to 50 MPH. The timing is important because you need to know when you need to deflate Rudolph or Santa, you know, the decorations outside. We don't want Santa Rudolph to truly fly away. Go to the next house if you know what I mean. But either way, you know, let's just prepare for Sunday night's stormy weather because next week it does look really nice. It's just a hurdle of Sunday that we need to get through.

Earth Day: These two ingredients can make your garden and plants greener

it's Earth Day. Right now we have two simple ingredients you can use to make your garden and your plants greener. I'm going to show you something that I'm obsessed with right now it's spring. So one of the best things you can do is fertilize your garden fertilized houseplants, outdoor plants, whatever when you cut your lawn. Okay, this is just some grass clippings link and you're going to miss this. What you want to do is take some grass clippings and just put a ton of it in a bucket of water. Okay, this is just a pretty vase but use like a bucket of water, cover it and put it in a dark place like in your garage like summer or your basement or whatever it's gonna stick. Okay, so in about two weeks what's happening is that this is decomposing into the water and tons of nitrogen and phosphorus from the grass is infused into this, take out the grass and then put that in a spray bottle. Or just put it in a watering can and water your plants. This is like a superfood drink for all of your practice. So I can take the clippings I already have and then repurpose them to help grow better. Yeah, and it's what are the two ingredients again? Grass clippings and water? So the only caveat is that you can't save the mixture so after two weeks when it's ready to go, you have to fertilize like all your plants right away. Don't hold on to leave it, forget it, fertilize it and you're going to have like these amazing tomato plants, herbs, potted plants, love this because it's just full of all that organic goodness.
