The suspect in a hit-and-run accident that killed a Yorktown man walked into a New York City police station Sunday.
The suspect, 25-year-old Lameen Witter, of Brooklyn, allegedly sped through a green traffic light Friday in Manhattan. He struck and killed Roger Roth and left his wife Diane fighting for her life in the hospital. Witnesses say the impact of the crash sent the couple flying. Neighbors say while the couple did not have children, they led a full life and Roger will be missed.
Witter currently faces charges for operating a vehicle without a license and leaving the accident scene. Those charges will likely be upgraded.
