A driver in West Haverstraw is lucky to be uninjured after police say he accidentally slammed his car into his home.
Police say Thomas Andriello, 85, was pulling into his driveway at around 11 a.m. Tuesday when he hit the accelerator, slammed into the wall and barreled into his home at 35 Kennedy Drive.
They say he then panicked, put his car into reverse, flew across the street and knocked over a utility pole. No one was hurt, but several residents lost power. O&R was quickly on the scene and power has since been restored.
Police say it is unlikely they will file any charges or issue a ticket against Andriello.
