DPW crews across the Hudson Valley are keeping a close eye on the local weather radar.
With strong rains and heavy winds expected to hit the area Tuesday, crews have the salt trucks ready. The entire Hudson Valley is under a flood watch, and gusty winds could knock out power.
White Plains Public Works Commissioner Bud Nicoletti says the roads are pre-treated with a salt water solution that helps prevent snow and ice from forming or bonding to the road.
News 12 meteorologists say Tuesday will be stormy, with any lingering wintry mix changing to rain during the morning.
Showery, windswept rains may be heavy at times and there is a risk of scattered thunderstorms.
