Court documents obtained by News 12 Westchester claim that Diane Schuler, the driver in the wrong-way Taconic State Parkway crash, was a regular marijuana user. The statement was given by Schuler's sister-in-law, Joan Schuler.
"Diane smoked marijuana on a regular basis," reads Joan Schuler's statement. "She didn't believe in medicine and used marijuana to relax. She usually would smoke at night after the kids would go to bed."
Members of the Bastardi family, who lost two people in the tragedy, were shown the documents Friday. They have been working with District Attorney Janet DiFiore in an effort to convene a grand jury and plan to file a civil suit in two to three weeks.
