When you're ready to satisfy your appetite, venture up to Main Street, where a world of flavors awaits. Taiim Falafel Shack, a cherished part of Hastings's history, has brought the rich flavors of the Middle East to locals for over a decade. Under the care of Roger Salazar and his sister Adanelly, the restaurant's menu has expanded to encompass tastes from Israel, India, and Mexico. Their chicken shawarma over rice stands out as a beloved customer favorite, crafted with Middle Eastern spices and culinary expertise.
"It's yellow rice with lentils and Middle Eastern spices. It's a custom in the Middle East to cut the shawarma, season it well and let it cook and just shave the outside. It tastes as good as good as it looks, you can be sure of that," says Roger.
Roger explains that Taiim Falafel Shack takes pride in offering vegetarian-based dishes, catering to different diets. For those with a passion for international cuisines, this hidden gem offers an international palate without straining the budget.
