A disaster recovery center is open today in New Rochelle for those residents still struggling with storm damage following Hurricane Ida.
It was nearly three months ago now that the remnants of Ida battered the Hudson Valley. From Rye to New Rochelle to Mamaroneck, Sound Shore communities were particularly hard hit, and many homeowners and renters were left with flooded out basements and thousands of dollars in damage.
Many have already gotten some FEMA assistance,  but a deadline is fast approaching to get help.
Victims now have less than a week to do so, and officials say Dec. 6 is the new deadline to apply for FEMA assistance if you suffered loss or damage from Hurricane Ida.
In the Hudson Valley, those eligible to apply are homeowners and renters living in Dutchess, Rockland and Westchester counties.
The New Rochelle disaster recovery center will be open today from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. to assist those still trying to get back on their feet financially .
