A political protest in White Plains is targeting a Republican Senate candidate for corruption.
Supporters of Democratic candidate Shelly Mayer took to the streets dressed in hazmat suits to call for a “corruption cleanup.” The group is accusing Mayer’s Republican opponent Julie Killian of corruption.
Protesters gathered on Mamaroneck Avenue in front of the Westchester Republican Center.
“I think it’s good to show support and important to speak out against some of the actions that are going on by the GOP and by the Killian campaign,” said protester Anthony Nicodemo.
They will face off in a special election April 24 to replace County Executive George Latimer.
