One of the Democrats seeking to run against Rep. Mike Lawler in the 17th Congressional District is suspending her campaign.

Liz Whitmer Gereghty is dropping out of the race and pledging her support for former Rep. Mondaire Jones.

Gereghty affirmed her determination to assist Democratic causes despite withdrawing from the race, citing a strong resolve to promote the party's candidates across the board.

Jones conveyed his gratitude for Gereghty's support.

Mary Ann Carr, a former Bedford Town Council member, remains another contender seeking the Democratic nomination in the 17th District.

The race is considered one of the pivotal contests in the upcoming elections, standing among the crucial five races that will determine the House majority.
