With less than three weeks to go before Election Day, candidates for the state Senate seat in the 40th District are busy on the campaign trail.
Democrat Justin Wagner and Republican Terrence Murphy are vying for the seat being vacated by outgoing Republican state Sen. Greg Ball. Both candidates have said if they are elected, they will change what they call "business as usual" in Albany.
"Reform is the issue we're pressing," says Wagner. "Reform over the broken property tax system, reform over our ethic laws, campaign finance laws."
His opponent has spoken about the need to keep New York affordable. "Over the last three and a half years, we've lost over 400,000 people," he says.
Both men will be crisscrossing the district, which includes parts of Westchester and Dutchess counties, in the remaining weeks to get their messages out to voters.
