News 12's photojournalist Karina Sorto-Kai takes us to Mariachi Mexico restaurant in Armonk where they prepare their pea shoot guacamole.

Joana Herrera says her philosophy is simple - all dishes are prepared with quality seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on the basics.

She says she gets her inspiration from her grandparents. Growing up in Tlaxcuapan, Mexico, she would accompany her grandmother to the market for fresh produce.

Mariachi Mexico is a farm to table restaurant where ingredients are locally sourced. This season, you will find some of these items on the menu: Tacos, enchiladas, pea shoot guacamole and happy hour frozen margaritas.
