We started the day on a slippery note, but things have settled into a quiet groove. Expect a repeat performance for the next several days. Daytime highs will climb above freezing, but don’t let that fool you. As soon as the sun goes down, we’ll dip back into the 20s.
That "melt-by-day, freeze-by-night" cycle means black ice will be a recurring character this week. Keep the salt handy, and keep a sharp eye out for those growing potholes!
The Presidents' Day holiday weekend lies ahead of us, and so does the potential for a winter storm. Thankfully, that trend has been to keep the system just to our south, but we are still keeping an eye on it.
Sunday into Presidents' Day is when a round of mixed wintry showers will be possible. Valentine's Day is on Saturday, and it will be a dry one with a lovely chill in the air.
