A Mount Vernon man is accused of illegally possessing loaded firearms and large-capacity magazines.

The Westchester County District Attorney's Office announced that 27-year-old Malachi Beccan was indicted and arraigned yesterday in Westchester County Court. He's charged with a total of seven counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Beccan was found to illegally possess two loaded firearms on Jan. 23, authorities say. He also allegedly had five large-capacity magazines.

Beccan faces a maximum potential penalty of 15 years in state prison. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
