A Rockland-based cybersecurity expert if offering tips on how to stay safe from artificial intelligence phone scams.
Protected Harbor CEO Richard Luna advised people to have a conversation with their children about scams and safe social media use.
He also suggested using a code word so family members can confirm it's each other during phone calls.
Luna said people should be unpredictable in conversations, which makes it harder for artificial intelligence to keep up with responses.
This comes following two scam phone calls made to two families within the Peekskill City School District.
Peekskill police are investigating the calls.
