Fire crews are still working to fully contain a brush fire that began in Putnam County Saturday.
Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne told News 12 Saturday that the brush fire is concentrated in a forest. He said there are concerns about the preservation of personal property and homes.
More than 20 acres have been affected so far by the brush fire in the area of Fort Defiance Hill Road.
Firefighters have been utilizing helicopters to dump water on many of the hot spots in an effort to stay ahead of the fire line.
County officials have reminded residents that there is a burn ban in effect for the entire region. There are no plans for any evacuations yet.
