An 18-wheeler knocked out phone and cable service in Ramapo Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the tractor-trailer ripped the wires down on Route 59 and Debaun Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. The incident happened in front of the police station and Town Hall.
As a result, the police department's non-emergency line is down and 911 calls are being transferred to the county system.
Utility workers are making repairs, but it unknown how long the outage will last.
