Couple survives Orange County motorcycle crash
A boyfriend and girlfriend were injured in a motorcycle crash in Orange County on Monday.
Witnesses say the couple was riding with a group of bikers on Route 218 in Cornwall when they went off the road.
The bike, and the woman, went 100 feet down an embankment. Firefighters used ropes to pull them both to safety.
One of their friends at the scene says motorcycles are not safe. "There is nothing protecting anybody.  I don't like them.  I like dirt bikes, like anything else, you're in an open field.  You have thousand-pound machines coming at you, like cars, everybody's texting these days, everybody's on their phones.  You're not protected by anything," says Victoria DiMartino.
The extent of the injuries for the victims is not know at this time. One of the crash victims was taken to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.
