Turning sap into maple syrup worthy of waffles and other dishes is no easy feat.
White Oak Farm in Yorktown is the last commercial maple syrup producer in the county, and it uses 2,400 maple trees to get the job done.
Friday was the first boil of the season for the farm, where they reduced hundreds of gallons of maple sap to syrup.
The farm uses a $100,000 machine to get the syrup made. It takes 15 buckets of sap to make one gallon of syrup.
