The candidates for Westchester County executive faced off Wednesday at the News 12 Westchester studios in Yonkers for their final debate before Election Day.
Though friendlier than their 2005 campaigns, Wednesday's debate between Democratic incumbent Andy Spano and Republican challenger Rob Astorino was still heated.
Astorino claims Spano is to blame for Westchester's high taxes and says he should consider giving up his personal body guard to save money.
Spano had some strong words of his own for Astorino. The county executive accused his opponent of racism for his objection to new affordable housing in Westchester for minorities.
The last time Spano and Astorino ran against each other, the vote was split 58 percent to 42 percent.
