A well-dressed suspect stole $90,000 from a White Plains auto shop yesterday, according to police.
Police say the theft happened at the USA Pro Auto Shop on Mamaroneck Avenue.
No one was inside the store when the incident occurred.
Surveillance video released to News 12 by White Plains police shows the suspect pacing inside the empty auto shop. Police say he could have been signaling someone outside before stealing the money from an unlocked safe behind the counter.
The owner says he had that much cash on hand because his gas supplier had been on vacation and he was just about to go to the bank to pay for four loads of gas. Some employees tell News 12 they think it's a person who is familiar with the area and the shop.
