A convict out on parole has been arrested in conjunction with a shooting at a deli in Mount Vernon three weeks ago.
Police say Juan Picart, 25, of Mount Vernon, was apprehended just after 8 p.m. Monday following a three-week manhunt.
Picart is accused of shooting a 28-year-old Mount Vernon man inside a grocery store on June 3 at 16 East 3rd St. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds but survived. The suspect has been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Picart has two prior convictions and spent 4 1/2 years in state prison.
