The extreme heat on Monday forced Westchester's largest city to open several cooling centers to provide relief from the sweltering temperatures.
On a day that saw temperatures exceed 90 degrees, some Yonkers seniors cooled off at the Coyne Park Community Center.
Not all of the seniors at Coyne Park stayed inside. Some enjoyed the hot weather and practiced for a bocce ball tournament.
Tuesday is expected to be hot and humid, with temperatures reaching at least 92 degrees and the small risk of a thunderstorm.
