Convicted murderer gets new sentence of 20 to life in Dutchess County Court
A convicted murderer is going back to prison after pleading guilty to gun and drug charges in Dutchess County Court.
According to the County District Attorney's office, Rasheem Thomison, 50, pleaded guilty Wednesday to the charges, which stem from a traffic stop in Poughkeepsie in February. Officials say officers found more than 8 grams of cocaine and a 9 mm gun.
Thomison was sentenced to 20 years to life for criminal possession of a weapon and 20 years for two different counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was previously convicted of robbery, criminal possession of a loaded firearm and murder within the past three decades.
