Ground was finally broken on a controversial waterfront project in Ossining Tuesday.
While many local officials and developers are celebrating the start of Harbor Square, a lawsuit has been filed to squash the project. Developers Martin Ginsburg and Louis Cappelli are pleased to see the start of construction of 150 market rate condos and retail space along the village's waterfront. There is still a lot of work to do on the site before actual construction can begin.
Harbor Square was first proposed in 1997 and has gone through several redesigns over the years to meet some of the objections. Village officials say they are confident they will win in court.
