Construction is underway on Iona College's North Avenue Residence Hall.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on the New Rochelle campus for the seven-story apartment-style dormitory. It will house more than 300 students.
The new dorm will feature restaurants, retail space and on-site security.
The North Avenue Residence Hall is scheduled to open in the fall of 2016.
Currently, there are more than 1,300 students living on Iona's campus.
