A box truck was mangled after colliding with a backhoe in Airmont this morning.
The truck driver tells News 12 he was traveling down Route 59 in Airmont around 8:30 a.m. when a construction worker drove a backhoe right into him.
However, workers at the construction site are blaming the truck driver for the accident. They say the truck driver was driving erratically through the construction cones and then drove right into the machine, knocking it onto its side.
Workers were able to flip the backhoe right side up with a broken wheel being  the only damage. The box truck was left with a gaping hole in the side of it. The driver says he's lucky the contents inside were not destroyed.
No one was hurt in the accident.  Officials say no charges have been filed at this time.
