Congressman argues veterans and their families could be unfairly impacted by House appropriations proposals

Congressman Pat Ryan held a rally over the weekend to denounce what he sees as a major threat to Hudson Valley veterans and their families.
Ryan argues that proposals by far-right Republicans passed through the House appropriations committee threaten SNAP benefits, housing vouchers and PACT Act benefits for veterans nationwide.
He says the proposed $30 billion cuts would include mental health programs.
"If Republicans want to get serious about cutting the deficit -- let's talk about finally making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share," Ryan said in a statement. "I refuse to make our veterans pay the price for extreme politicians' decisions," he added.
