A Rockland carnival is making its grand return for the first time since the pandemic.
The Congers Fire Department Carnival kicked off Friday and continues through Sunday behind the firehouse near Lake Road and Sherman Avenue.
The fun, fundraising event features rides, food, entertainment and now a newly added beer garden.
The event first started a decade ago as a way to raise money for the department, but also in memory of George Wohl.
Wohl was a volunteer firefighter who died in 2003 in the line of duty.
"We're back in business so come down to Congers … come in and enjoy yourselves,” says Frank Voce, of the Confers Fire Department. “And give your support to volunteers."
The fun caps off Sunday night with a DJ and a fireworks show.
