The Congers Community kicked off their Memorial Day remembrance ceremonies Saturday with its Annual Memorial Day parade hosted by the Veterans Memorial Association of Congers.
Saturday's rain stopped just in time for community members to come together to remember and honor fallen veterans who didn't make it back home to Congers.
"It allows us the opportunity to not only celebrate the community with the parade, but also have a ceremony afterwards, where we can honor those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice," said Richard Diaz, President of VMA of Congers.
The parade has not taken place in two years.
This year's ceremony was the first one back to full capacity since the onset of the pandemic.
