Con Edison will once again have to answer tough questions about the repeated power outages that plagued Westchester County over the summer.
The state Assembly is holding a special hearing Thursday into the outrage over all the power outages. Westchester County Executive Andy Spano will testify at the hearing. Spano is demanding changes at the utility company.
Con Ed has taken the heat for tens of thousands of outages caused by a tornado, severe thunderstorms and the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto. Some Yonkers residents say Con Ed officials aren't the only ones who should be held responsible for the outages. Many say city officials should also take better care of trees that are dangerously close to power lines. Con Ed officials say they did the best job they could and restoring power is not as easy as changing a light bulb.
