Complaints of hostile work environment levied on Nyack schools superintendent

Nyack unions are expected to voice their concerns against school district Superintendent Susan Yom at a meeting scheduled for tonight.
While it remains unclear if the school board will take action regarding Yom, multiple union workers within the district are reportedly extremely unhappy with her policies and are not keeping quiet about it.
During the last Nyack School Board meeting two weeks ago, 100 teachers walked out in protest against Yom. Additionally, earlier this month, the unions conducted a vote of "no confidence" in her leadership due to concerns about her decision-making, interactions with staff, and vision for the district.
In a special board meeting on March 8, it was alleged that Yom had bullied and created hostile environments for staff members, leading to low morale and difficulties in retaining teachers and other staff. At the same meeting two weeks ago, parents and other community members voiced their support for the teachers, expressing concern about the district's current state.
Tonight's school board meeting is scheduled to commence at 6:30 p.m. in the Nyack Middle School gym and will also be accessible via Zoom.
