Community members gathered Wednesday night to offer hope to those who have lost loved ones to opioid abuse.

Councilman Glenn Bellitto lost his son Gage to opioid abuse three days before Christmas.

"I can't believe he'll never be here again," says Bellitto. "That's the hard part."

The goal of the meeting was to offer support.

"It's a big problem in Eastchester, it's a big problem everywhere," says Lilly Neuman of Maxwell Institute. "No one is untouched by this."

Bellitto says he hopes that by sharing his son's story, Gage's light will continue to shine.
