Community raises nearly $18,000 for Hastings-on-Hudson kennel destroyed by Ida
A community has come together to save a family-run business that was destroyed by flooding from Ida.
The owner of Ludworth's Kennels in Hastings-on-Hudson risked his life to save 20 dogs and one cat during the storm - using a Jet Ski.
The kennel, which has been around for 80 years, was in danger of closing until word spread that it needed help.
A GoFundMe page has raised nearly $18,000
"I'd like to thank everybody that donated because it really super-helped, basically we lost everything," says Thomas Braig, owner of Ludworth Kennels.
