Many in Putnam County are mourning the death of a 12-year-old boy who lost his battle with brain cancer this weekend.
Sean Callahan, from Mahopac, lost his battle with a rare form of brain cancer last Sunday.
Callahan's schoolmates and loved ones gathered Tuesday for the boy's wake at St. John the Evangelist Church.
They say it was Sean's perseverance and desire to help others that led him to write a book when he was just 10 years old to help give hope to other children with cancer.
Funeral services for Sean Callahan are scheduled for Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac.
