Friday is officially "Uncle Jimmy Mack Day" in the city of Peekskill.
The beloved comedian, whose real name was James McNair, was killed in the New Jersey crash that left actor-comedian Tracy Morgan seriously injured one year ago.
On the one-year anniversary of his death, McNair's family is taking a page from his playbook and planning two big events this weekend. On Friday, an all-day community festival will be held. On Saturday, there will be a show at the Paramount Theatre.
The show will feature comedians and musicians from all over the state. The family says there are still tickets available for the event.
Proceeds will benefit the Jimmy Mack Scholarship Fund and will be donated to kids in the community.
